CELEBRATE SUSTAINABLE GASTRONOMY DAY WITH FARM TO FORK DINNER ON 18 JUNE
On 18 June, celebrate Sustainable Gastronomy Day with Farm to Fork Dinner featuring four exemplary chefs who will be cooking a four-course menu at the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts in Amman.
MEET THE CHEFS:
- Chef Sara Aqel: At age 18, she started her studies at the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts with an internship at The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and a semester at the Four Seasons Amman. Sara then moved to Dubai to work at Burj Al Arab’s Al Muntaha restaurant, then at Torno Subito at W Dubai The Palm under the signature of 3-star Michelin chef Massimo Bottura . She became Chef De Cuisine of Fi’lia, and was promoted to Global Executive Chef to look after Fil’ia’s branches in Dubai, Miami, the Bahamas, and Paris. In 2022 the Michelin Guide awarded her with a Bib Gourmand. She was named F&B Arab Woman of the Year by Cosmopolitan ME, ranked Top 5 best new restaurants by La Liste 100. She was also listed in the Power 50 by Caterer Middle East.
- Chef Luca Lelli: He is the culinary improviser of Joz Hind, a charming small family-run kitchen in the heart of Jabal Weibdeh serving socially responsible and healthy food. He started the kitchen 9 years ago with his half-Jordanian/half-Italian wife Hind whom he met in Italy and followed for love to Amman. Luca grew up on a farm in Emilia-Romagna. Traveling fed his passion for street food, culinary simplicity, and honest cooking. Hind’s and Luca’s path to only use local, fresh, and mostly organic ingredients.
- Chef Mohammad Atieh: After graduating from the Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Management in Balqa in 2009, he worked in Amman with Le Meridien and Kempinski. He then moved to Abu Dhabi to work with Park Hyatt then Le Royal Meridien . He then joined CUT by Celebrity Chef Wolfgang Puck at the Four Seasons Bahrain and landed his first Chef de Cuisine roles with Hyatt in Riyadh and Aqaba to open the resort in 2018. Back in Amman, Mohammad did the pre-opening of The St. Regis Amman where he developed the concept of Tamara restaurant . He then transferred to W Amman as Executive Sous Chef where he was promoted to Executive Chef in 2022. That same year Mohammad reached the final round of MBC Top Chef, Chef de Cuisine 2021 Hospitality Excellence Awards, and a TV host.
- Chef Aya Alqour She is an exceptionally talented and creative Jordanian Pastry Chef who graduated in 2016 from the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts in Amman with experience in the kitchens of luxury 5-star-hotels and as a young entrepreneur. At the start of her culinary journey, Aya interned at La Capitale in the Four Season Amman. She later joined The St. Regis Amman where she was part of the pre-opening team of Tamara Restaurant. The pandemic sparked Aya’s entrepreneurial spirit as she ventured on her own to establish her personal brand Aya Élite Pâtisserie.
