LENTILS WITH FENNEL ADASS BIL SHUMAR

INGREDIENTS |
- 1/2 cup lentils
- 1 kg fennel leaves, finely chopped
- 4-5 cups water
- 3 onions, chopped
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Salt
PREPARATION |
- Boil lentils in a pot for 30 minutes.
- Add fennel and cook until done (approximately 20 min).
- Sauté onions in half the olive oil until golden.
- Add the remaining oil to onions and add to pot. Cook for an additional 10 min or until water has evaporated.
- Serve in a shallow platter with lemon slices
