Four-hands dinner, part of the Gault&Millau UAE Master Series
In January of this year, Jason Atherton unveiled City Social within the luxurious Grosvenor House, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Dubai. Just three short months later, his culinary prowess earned him a prestigious toque in the Gault&Millau UAE 2023 guide. Atherton’s culinary expedition didn’t stop there; he subsequently introduced Row on 45, an intimate, 22-seat enclave redefining the concept of ultra-fine dining with its exquisite multi-course degustation menu.
It is within this gastronomic haven that Atherton and fellow British culinary virtuoso Nick Alvis are poised to collaborate on a once-in-a-lifetime epicurean experience. Scheduled for Tuesday, November 14, this exclusive event will treat a fortunate assembly of 22 guests to an opulent eight-course tasting menu, a showcase of both chefs’ penchant for elevated British-inspired cuisine, subtly intertwined with Atherton’s affinity for Japanese flavors.
The culinary journey will unfold in three distinct acts, taking guests through the enchanting ambiance of the Champagne Lounge, the bustling main dining room with an open show kitchen, and culminating in a delightful evening in the chef’s private library.
Intriguingly, both Atherton and Alvis share an impressive pedigree as former proteges of the esteemed Gordon Ramsay. Their culinary paths converged in the culinary scene of Dubai, with Alvis initially making his mark at Ramsay’s Verre restaurant in the former Hilton Dubai Creek hotel. Notably, it was here that Atherton first ventured into Dubai’s culinary landscape while working under Ramsay’s tutelage.
The highly anticipated four-hands dinner, an exquisite union of talents, will grace Row on 45, commencing at 7 pm on Tuesday, November 14. This culinary spectacle marks the inaugural event in the G&M Masters Series, promising to tantalize the taste buds and showcase unique gastronomic experiences in Gault&Millau-rated restaurants, guided by the country’s most distinguished chefs.
