LEBANON, A TOP DESTINATION
An article published in news.com.au lists Lebanon as one of the top tourist spots growing in popularity among Aussies.
According to the article, Lebanon had a 38 per cent increase on the Destinations on the Rise list and there’s no surprises why — while it borders Syria and Israel, it’s nestled on the Mediterranean coast, with a striking resemblance to the coastlines of Italy and Greece.
Its capital city Beirut, often called the “Paris of the Middle East”, is a hotspot for cosmopolitan charms.
Lebanon known for its stunning scenery has landed it fifth on the Destinations on the Rise list (2016-2018).
While it has experienced its fair share of conflicts, with a civil war ending in 1990 and fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006, the city of Beirut is currently largely safe to visit, according to the Foreign Office.
