INGREDIENTS |
• 250g rice
• 500g granulated sugar
• 250g tahini
• 20g turmeric powder
• A handful of pine nut seeds
PREPARATION |
1.Soak the rice overnight in enough water to cover it. The next day, rinse the rice and strain in a cooking pot; add the turmeric powder to 1 liter of water and leave to boil.
2. As soon as the turmeric starts boiling, add the rice and cook until the water evaporates. Cover the pot and let the rice cook well on a medium fire.
3.In a different pot, mix the sugar, tahini and pine nuts. Add the mixture to the rice and stir continuously for an hour and half.
4.Continue stirring until the mixture thickens and the oil starts merging on the surface.
5. Pour the moufataka into serving dishes while still hot and leave to cool before serving.
