O’17 LEBANESE GIN
The creators of O’17 met during the covid-19 pandemic lockdown. Two distributors searching for a marketer, a marketer looking for a communication expert, and a communication expert seeking the expertise of a storyteller. 5 individuals met by total chance and shared a love for Gin and Revolutions, especially the one erupting in their country, Lebanon, named October 17.
TASTING NOTES
Smooth and clear. Juniper aromas with zesty hints and a touch of lime freshness, followed by a blanket of sweet orange, lime and refreshing grapefruit. Very classic Gin on the palate with flavors of coriander and sprinkles of nutmeg.
THE STORY
The distillery located in the high mountains of Mount Lebanon was founded back in 1950 and was dedicated to the production of arak.
In 1986, the company invested in a bottling haul and started expanding its range of products. First came the vodka, then the whisky and later on the gin.
In 1990, the company defined its vision to become a global, vertically and horizontally integrated institution in the alcohol, alcoholic beverages, wines and natural vinegar fields.
In 1999, the company invested in a winery and later on in a vinegar production unit in view of realizing what it had planned for in becoming a large active player in the field.
In 2018, the company invested in a vapor infused distillation unit for its gin production to gently extract the best out of a careful selection of local and imported botanicals. The gin O’17 owes its subtle unmatched quality to the carefully developed process and machinery, to the selection and just balance of the botanicals and to the distillation and blending know-how developed over the years.
