TEXAN-STYLE BARBECUE AT THE TEXAS BEEF BBQ FESTIVAL
The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) organized the Texas Beef BBQ Festival at The Loghouse Wood Hills Resort in Mayrouba on 27th July. The event showcased the art of Low “N” Slow cooking and grilling the finest U.S. beef cuts. This festival presented a much-awaited chance for participants to reunite with trading partners, associates, and friends.
An enjoyable event took place where a group representing the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon expressed their support for the U.S. beef marketing and promotion program implemented by USMEF. The event featured the renowned BBQ Bros team of skilled chefs and pitmasters who delighted attendees with a splendid array of high-quality U.S. beef steaks, all prepared in the authentic Texan style.
The menu presented a unique selection of top-notch beef products imported from the USA, including short ribs, short loins, rib eyes, striploins, and tenderloins. The BBQ Bros’ culinary expertise shone through as they showcased a delightful variety of dishes, such as the refreshing kale orange salad with tangy lemon dressing, and the grilled vegetables salad with Michelada dressing.
For the main courses, guests were treated to mouthwatering options like the succulent U.S. Beef tenderloin served with entrecote sauce and roasted pineapples, the perfectly seared U.S. beef striploin steak accompanied by chimichurri sauce, and the delectable U.S. Beef ribeye steak coated in black coffee and smoked paprika, then barrel-smoked and grill-seared. Another highlight was the exquisitely slow-cooked U.S. angus short loin, served with grilled dates, Dijon mustard, and apple Jim Beam flambé. To complete the meal, side orders included garlic potato wedges and whole roasted potatoes served with sour cream and corn on the cob.
The event also took the opportunity to honor Lebanese importers, particularly the Grey McKenzie Retail Group (Spinneys), who persisted in bringing U.S. beef to Beirut, even during challenging times. Spinneys, alongside local suppliers, distributors, and end-users, unwaveringly believed in the consistent quality of U.S. beef, and it is expected that U.S. beef will regain its popularity in Lebanon once economic and financial challenges are overcome.
Throughout the evening, guests relished the authentic taste and tenderness of U.S. beef while enjoying. country music and posing for photos with cowboy hats, Texan scarves and props.
